Introduction
WeShare is a peer-to-peer rental platform that connects people who have things with people who need them. The platform runs on mutual respect, honest communication, and the shared belief that we can do more together than apart.
These Community Guidelines apply to every member — hosts, renters, and anyone browsing the platform. By creating an account you agree to follow them. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
We update these guidelines as the community grows. We'll notify you of any material changes.
Be Respectful
Every interaction on WeShare — messages, reviews, handovers — should treat the other person with dignity. Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic is strictly prohibited.
Communicate politely and professionally with other members.
Respect cultural differences and personal boundaries.
Honour agreed-upon rental terms without last-minute changes.
Use offensive, discriminatory, or harassing language in any form.
Pressure another member into altering a booking or price outside the platform.
Honest Listings
Renters make decisions based on your listing. Accuracy builds trust and reduces disputes.
Do
- — Use accurate, up-to-date photos that represent the actual item or property.
- — Provide a complete and truthful description — condition, limitations, and special instructions.
- — Set fair pricing and keep your calendar current to avoid last-minute cancellations.
- — Disclose any known defects, restrictions, or safety requirements upfront.
Don't
- — Misrepresent the condition, size, location, or features of a listing.
- — List items you do not own or do not have the right to rent out.
- — Use stock images or photos of a different item/property.
- — Inflate availability to collect views without intent to fulfill bookings.
Safe Transactions
Using WeShare's built-in tools protects both parties. Off-platform deals void our insurance coverage and dispute resolution.
Keep it on-platform
All payments and agreements must go through WeShare. Off-platform deals are not covered by our protections.
Document the handover
Take photos before and after every rental. Note any existing damage and share it with the other party.
Verify identities
Use our built-in ID verification and review profiles before accepting a rental request.
Care for items
Renters: treat every item as if it were your own. Return it clean, on time, and in the same condition.
Prohibited Conduct
Violations in this section may result in immediate account suspension and referral to law enforcement where applicable.
Prohibited items
- Weapons, ammunition, or explosives of any kind.
- Illegal substances or drug paraphernalia.
- Counterfeit goods or intellectual-property-infringing items.
- Items that violate local, national, or international law.
- Live animals or protected wildlife products.
Prohibited behaviour
- Fraud, scams, phishing, or impersonation of any person or organisation.
- Circumventing WeShare fees by transacting outside the platform.
- Creating multiple accounts to evade a suspension or ban.
- Threatening, blackmailing, or coercing other users.
- Scraping, spamming, or automated abuse of WeShare systems.
- Sharing another user's private information without consent.
Reviews & Feedback
Honest reviews help the whole community make informed decisions. After every rental, both parties are encouraged to leave a review.
- Reviews must be based on your direct experience with the rental or the member.
- Keep feedback factual and constructive — avoid personal attacks or inflammatory language.
- Do not offer or accept payment in exchange for positive reviews.
- Do not attempt to manipulate review scores by creating fake bookings.
- WeShare may remove reviews that violate these standards after investigation.
Reporting & Enforcement
If you encounter behaviour that violates these guidelines, please report it promptly. Our Trust & Safety team reviews every report.
Report in-app
Use the "Report" button on any listing, message, or user profile. Include as much detail as possible.
Email our team
Send a report to safety@weshare.online with screenshots or other evidence.
We investigate
Our team reviews the report within 48 hours and may reach out to both parties for more information.
We take action
Depending on severity, we may issue a warning, restrict features, suspend, or permanently ban the account.
Consequences
We apply a graduated response to violations, scaled to their severity and frequency. We reserve the right to skip steps for serious violations.
A formal notice for minor first-time infractions. The issue is documented and monitored.
Temporary limits on messaging, listing creation, or booking for repeated or moderate violations.
Full account suspension for a defined period. Active bookings may be cancelled.
Irreversible removal for severe violations including fraud, illegal activity, or repeated abuse.
You may appeal a suspension or ban by contacting appeals@weshare.online within 30 days. We review all appeals within 5 business days.
